How to do Elevator Glitch

Posted February 2nd, 2010 by BuckeyeTC

The elevator Glitch can be VERY hard, yet with practice it can be pretty easy. Some elevators have to be EXACT; while others are more forgiving. Here is the “secret” to becoming a great elevator glitcher. Be patient and don’t give up, the more you do, the better you get. Then you can do really cool stuff like get outside of maps and even under some.

First:
Class setup:
Here is my recommended class setup with some variations depending on what you currently have unlocked.
Weapon: small machine gun or assault rifle (I switch between mini-uzi and RPD “I know its a large machine gun, that’s MY preference, yours will differ”)
Secondary: Don’t matter, I use pistol
Equipment: Tactical Insertion (very important so when you get somewhere you don’t have to do it all over again)
Perk 1: One man army (so you can replenish you tactical insertions for each step) or at least scavenger (same concept, walk over dead bodies and get new insertion)
Perk 2: I recommend Lightweight (makes for easier jumps, which are sometimes required)
Perk 3: Commando PRO (must be pro) so when you jump from VERY high once elevated, you won’t die.

NOW, the KEY COMPONENT:
This is the most important part. Once mastered the rest is butter.
Learn how to get initially aligned up.
1st: walk all the way forward to glitching area, facing it.
2nd: Align yourself (center up, then slightly rotate right)

Here is how to Center and rotate:
You look down or up, depending on what you want to use as a reference, such as a board on the side of a roof. Lets say there is snow on roof with board right below it. Look down till the board is about 1/2 – 1 inch from top of your TV/Monitor. Center up as best you can (left to right centering) (you are already “forward” at this point) Now what you have to do is SLOWLY rotate left and right. You will start to see on top of board the “Pixels” create a jagged sawtooth edge, as shown in pic below #1 and #2. Then you rotate yourself till these go away and are flat. THIS IS CENTER. Now slowly rotate to the right until you see only 2 to 4 jagged edges as shown in pic below #3 line. These steps here are the key, you are now done with the hardest part (that most people seem to have a hard time grasping)

Pixel Elevator Alignment

Now you hit your start button
Select Options
Select Stick Layout
Select Legacy Southpaw (not soutpaw, but LEGACY SOUTHPAW the bottom one)
backout of options

now your ready for the next “hardest step”
crouch or go prone, depending on which elevator you are doing.
move a decent amount 1 to 2 body lengths to the left.
hit circle (on PS3) and try to stand, hopefully you won’t be able to
if you can go back down and move left till you can’t stand.
NOW move slowly, by bumping to the right slightly until you can stand.
NOW go back to left till you can’t stand. THIS IS IT.
In between the “can’t stand” and “can stand” is the glitch and you will FLY UP!
The difference in the Gap is only a pixel or two, so your movements at this point
left and right are VERY VERY slight while you try to stand….then BOOM your floating.

IMPORTANT: do not touch nothing while going up (you can hit start button and return stick layout to default, which you will have to do on the way up or when your done rising)

Here is where you set a tactical insertion, so if you fall, kill yourself and re-appear in same spot without having to go through the above process. You can now walk forward and around as long as you stay within the boundaries of the roof below you. These are the basics, getting out of maps and jumping to other buildings etc… will come later, just master this process first. When you get to another building/map one man army to get another tactical and set it again to respawn there! Here is a YouTube video of two Derail Elevator Glitches, not my video, I will post one of my own later. I just wanted to get the “Pixel” alignment up ASAP since I’ve been giving so many 1 on 1 tutorials and wanted those peeps to see the jagged edges I was talking about. So Mattie432, if you want it removed let me know.

You will notice the first scene is just jumping on a fence, kewl but not an elevator, second scene on tank is where I learn my first elevator in MW2 it is a “prone” elevator which means you will lay down after alignment and selecting legacy southpaw. The third scene is a “crouch” elevator, which means you won’t lay down but only crouch and stand. CREDIT goes to Mattie432.

Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Emblems

Posted February 1st, 2010 by BuckeyeTC

I constantly get asked the question online, “what is your prestige level” or “what is that guys prestige level” based on looking at the prestige icon in a match. Sometimes people even forget what level they are LOL. Hint for that…..When you log onto the game it tells you what percent of game is complete for multiplayer, example 435%….the first number 4 is what level you are. Anyway here are some pics of the levels for Modern Warfare 2 that you can print out or bookmark for reference.

From left to right is 1 to 5 prestige.

Prestige emblem 1 2 3 4 5

From left to right is 6 to 10 prestige.

Prestige emblem 6 7 8 9 10

PS3-XBOX Port Forwarding-DMZ-NAT

Posted January 21st, 2010 by BuckeyeTC

CODBUNKER.com receives a lot of traffic, posts, and questions on this subject. Mostly from the post Communication with Activision Servers.
Here is a generic tutorial to help with this problem. It is my belief that most problems with this issue is from router setup and PS3 or XBOX setup. Activision had server problems (mostly with PS3 Network) on release date. They have since then resolved this issue, months ago. They are sure to have occasional issues with thier servers during upkeep and equipment failures, but those should be rare and short lived. That leaves us with your setup.

First you must setup your game system (PS3 or XBOX). I will show the PS3 since this is what I use, but the concept should work on both. If somebody wants to post a comment on the EXACT specifics for XBOX you are more than welcome.

System setup:
In the XMB screen (main screen before you launch game)
Go to “Settings” and select “Network Settings”
Then first we must find your MAC address
this is shown under “Settings and Connection Status List”
Write this down for use on you router later.

Internet Connection Settings

Next under “Settings” and “Network Settings” (where you were)
Select “Internet Connection Settings”
Setup your Internet Connection Manually “Custom”
Most settings you can use “Auto”

If you do not have a “NAT” setting to use on your router
Then you will have to setup just a “DMZ” which requires you
to setup a “Static IP address” vs using DHCP

If your router allows for NAT then use all settings for automatic just make sure that you set UpnP to Enable.

Without NAT you will have to “DMZ”
For this you will have to set you IP Address using manual
here is an example (some are different you have to know your basic network settings from your router) Some use 192.168.1.xxx some use 192.168.0.xxx some use 192.168.100.xxx, etc you will have to figure your router out. Most “Subnets” are 255.255.255.0

Here is the example:
IP address: 192.168.1.44
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Router: 192.168.1.1
Primary DNS: 192.168.1.1
Secondary DNS: (not needed)

IP Settings

Now to the Router.
Open a browser and where the http address line is type in your routers IP
ex. 192.168.1.1 and hit the enter key
this will bring you to the log in screen
Your ISP may have set this up for you or you may have and forgot the password
if this is the case you can reset the router to default with a small reset button usually located
on the rear of router. (If you have to do this you will have to setup your network settings again including your wireless if you have one) If you know your login then proceed.
here is the defaults for most routers:
USERNAMES PASSWORDS
admin admin
admin password
admin motorola
admin 1234
myname myemailpw
(Verizon, myname=MYNAME@verizon.net,
myemailpw=Password to log into your email)

I will give example using Motorola SBG900 (very common cable modem)

Select “Gateway” then at top the “LAN” tab
here you will enter your MAC address and checkmark “bypass firewall then click add
Then select enable NAT and hit apply (you will have to reboot router when told)
Reboot your PS3 and when you log on you should not see on MW2 lobby screen
“NAT Type: OPEN”……………YOUR DONE!

NAT

Easy Huh! LOL

If you don’t have a NAT setup so easy, then let’s just “DMZ” it (De-Militarized Zone)
Find in your router DMZ settings:
Add your MAC address, your static IP address you created in PS3/XBOX setup
checkmark either “set to DMZ” or “Bypass Firewall”
Reboot router, and gamestation and you should see
“NAT Type: Open”…………YOUR DONE!

DMZ

Hope this helps or gets you in the right direction, if this is too advanced for you please seek help with a “techie” friend or family member.

PS3 3.15 System Update

Posted January 15th, 2010 by BuckeyeTC

Today Sony realeased an optional update 3.15. It will have features for the PS3 to play PSP “minis”. But most importantly it will allow users that have two or more PlayStation3’s to transfer all data between them. This is very useful for those who have two or more in different rooms that may want to play in one room or the other, you can now transfer without having to use a thumb drive to move saved game data as well as other data.
