It’s call the dreaded “Lag”.
When in a game things that happen on my machine may not yet make to you machine in 50 milliseconds, it might take 65 milliseconds for my Xbox/PS3 to tell yours that I knifed you, or your transmission already told me that you knifed me. Its a timing thing. That also why you’ll hear of some people using “lag switches” which create a lag to thier favor, but these are getting harder to get away with. Most of the time 95% or so its just plain ole network lag. Exit game start into new lobby. As far as re-spawning and “randomly knifing”, its not random, that movement was in your machine’s queue as the others machine told yours you died. When you respawn it is then executed….This can be fixed, but I think programmers think its funny to add insult to injury by leaving it in there IMO…..LOL…..

Watch the kill cam and you’ll see what COD’s talking about. It’s pretty sad, honestly. I had that happen to me last night as I was playing, several times. I jumped down on top of someone, knifed him (twice, in fact) and apparently never touched him. He was about to shotgun me, and because I was frustrated with the fact that I not only had the element of surprise, but that I knifed him twice, I watched the kill cam. The first knife showed that I was apparently 10 feet away from him, and the second one never showed at all. Then, I respawned, and good ol’ Charneus says ‘Hey! I need to knife!’

This seems to be happening more and more as i play it and people seem to be able to knife around corners as i’m running down a road or corridor and then get knifed from nowhere, watch the kill cam to see what happen and find that they somehow track a little with gun then knife around the corner or through the wall WTF

The commando perk is a blessing and a curse. You love it when you’re using it (especially commando pro), but you hate it when it seems like someone just jumps 10 feet to knife you.

Or when you shoot a rocket close range to get a suicide kill and they knife you and your rocket never explodes…It just gets sucked into a black hole never to be found again

yeah i was playing last night the lag was pissing me off so bad the ping was higher than usual =/

tha happened to meh in quarry i was behind the doode doing my james bond thing and i tried to tac. knife his campin` arse but the connection was f’n up soo i basically looked like an idiot in the kill cam while he jus shot meh. soooper pissed.
