MW2 Elevators not working?

Elevators are GONE!?
I have heard complaints from Xbox’rs that they can’t do elevators no more (since they got Stimulus Package). I just downloaded update 1.10 for the PS3 and got a note from @samua1981 that he couldn’t do elevators no more, so I investigated. I went to the easiest place to do elevators “Derail” and tried two there and they did not work! So apparently they have been removed by update 1.10 
This really sux, I could see removing a few that interfered with game play (easy cheating kills) but most did not, or where easily defensible. They could’ve at least left it in private match. But based on what I’ve seen they are gone. I haven’t checked all maps but I’ll bet they are the same. Who knows maybe new ones will be in Stimulus Package? There goes 30% of my fun
i tried two in karachi and dont work either, thats a real bummer

This is unbelievable! A good friend of mine finally found the time to teach me some elevators in karachi and derail, a great experiance to walk all over the mountains, mw2 made my heart beat faster again because I could do elevators!!!! And in all of my excitement I invited a friend over who’s head over heals with mw2 but had never done an elevator in his life. But guess what… neither worked anymore! This site is the first one where anyone talks about the disapearing of elevators! Is it true? What is happening? 30% of my fun is about to get flushed down the toilet as well if nothing happens soon about this nonsens!! And just as you say BuckeyeTC, at least allow them in private matches! Please Infinity Ward! We’re gamers. We’re people! We love things that actually aren’t really allowed and not anyone can do so it keeps our pride up! We need these extras in the game, they’re a treat, a goody, because without them….. the game…. will just be… another game……..

im so pissed to. it would be nice if they could make one map full of elevators to find on your own. a map especially for elevators. If you dont like elevators, dont go to the map. Im also pissed that they patched the infinite carepackage glitch. i mean come on. playing by the rules isnt always fun. if they made a map to find your own elevators, ide buy it…
wdf beeches sumone should call em to make the 1.11 update to make it comebak already damn they should juss put it in private match n in karachi i cnt get on da roof where it is striped red n whiteits not like anyone does it it knows it they shouldnt patch anythin in private match

It’s called overgrown… theres thousands…. u just go to the nearest window sill and do an elevator… and they didn’t fully block the elevators just made preventive blocks around them so it’s harder… U just have to be really good at it to get it.. so say goodbye to the 45 degree angles and say hello to the 5 degree ones… I don’t have a video or any prrof like that but I’ve done at least 10 in overgrown so they’re still out there

Wow! Talking about the elevators is making me mad! This is what makes gaming fun, knowing that you can do something that 40% of other gamers dont have the balls to do knowing they can get shot in the back while trying…lol… I’ve been trying to find new ones since 1.10 but I’m sure in a month or so it’ll be back.
there not going to be back in a month because they stopped about 2 months ago also since the update i cant do wall breaches anymore they blocked them all wasteland, terminal, rust , afghan, all of them!
so gay why did they have to block wall breaches too
they should bring back the elevator glitch its the reason i played cod so much. They cant fix every glitch in a game we’ll find new ones. Like ‘fuel’ in a rock!!
i’m really piss bout it but i’m found a video on youtube i dont know if its legit but it doesnt look fake either…. i’m on xbox and i used to love making kids scream HACKS when getting picked off from the sky =( i cant find video.. but hwat u do is when it get blocked and find the spot u jump so the pressure against the ground and the block propell u upwardthe only other way there is to get rid of it is to delete the patch but that means u cant play live
i bet like 40% of ppl will stop playing cause iw patched elevators

Actually there, not fixed i did one earlier today. Also they can’t fix them, there parts of the code when they make the game. All they can do is put a barrier that makes it harder to do them, but they can still be done.

Your right…….sorta, they can’t actually “fix” them, they have patches, barriers, etc. With one of the “Title updates” it actually flags the software when you are in an elevator area and going thru the motions of elevating, and then “bumps” you out of alignment. If your lucky enough to get it nats azz on the 1st try, you’d probably get it, but that is such a slim chance of doing, it is now not worth it
