Activision announced the DLC Map Packs are due out FIRST on XBOX for ELITE Premium members on January 24, 2012 (Partial Press Release below). Modern Warfare 3 will soon have 2 multiplayer maps “Liberation” (Based in New York) and “Piazza” (Based in Italy) and as always Xbox first then all others, typically 30 days later. Please don’t ask they SAME question, “What about Playstation?” If you have forgotten already the Microsoft Deal, I’ve added it’s partial Press Release from ATVI at the very bottom as well. I’m not sure exactly how this will work for non ELITE members, yet………I’m not even sure if IW or SHG does yet either but as a Premium ELITE, you will see it first, as well as, EXCLUSIVE content, and always XBOX first. I know this seems confusing to many, too be honest, I slightly confused myself, but at any rate they are coming and no matter which platform you prefer,they will be here soon enough, so let’s just be patient……..K

Below is video to help explain more and reveal some of these maps, but be sure to READ the PR’s below for more specifics, especially the last one that seems anger PS3 Peeps EVERY time there is a DLC. Look on the bright side though PS3 peeps, note it states “through 2012″, well that’d mean one year left of this contract, unless MSFT dumps more money on the table (which they probably will, LOL)

The Modern Warfare 3 Content Season for Call of Duty Elite will include a broader variety than ever, with brand new multiplayer maps, Special Ops Missions, new game modes and more. While Call of Duty Elite premium subscribers get the new content first, as promised, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 fans who want to buy the content a la carte as they have in the past, will be able to purchase the content via Modern Warfare 3 Content Collections.

All content drops for Call of Duty Elite premium members will occur once a month, starting in January for Xbox Live users and will continue through the year, ending in September. During the first three months of 2012, Activision will release five different content drops on three occasions in January, February and March, first on Xbox Live, followed by additional platforms at a later time.

The first two Content Drops will be multiplayer maps—also playable in Modern Warfare 3 Survival Mode—that throw combatants into a war-torn Central Park and an Italian seaside village. Liberation is a vast, militarized landscape, ripe for long-range sniper and LMG fire, with mounted turrets on either end that lend power to anyone brave enough to expose themselves in exchange for deadly firepower. Piazza is the idyllic Italian getaway that is anything but, where tight corners and branching pathways pose great risk at every turn. Close-range combat dominates in Piazza, where attacks from behind, above and below are an ever-constant threat.

The third Content Drop will be available for download in mid-February and two additional Content Drops will go live in March, as premium Call of Duty Elite members will receive new content once a month through September. Also in March, the first Modern Warfare 3 Content Collection will be available for purchase by the entire Call of Duty: MW3 player community on Xbox Live………….

So for you Noobs that just got your Playstations, Xbox’s with MW3 congratulations! We are so thankful that St. Nick gave you such a wonderful gift. As for us “Veterans” we too have received a gift, which is you, LOL. We know the maps, and we know EXACTLY where you will be camping at, so don’t try it or you WILL get humped from behind, then Knifed, then T-bagged Don’t fret though, we were all Noobs at some point, just respawn, get back in there and let us enjoy pwning you……..until you start to get the hang of it, and grow past the “noob” status, then you to can look forward to the “Tax Return” Noobs with us in the next few months

Christmas NOOB Tips:
I suggest you play private matches for a little bit, to get familiar with maps. If you really get frustrated you can try out the Single player “Campaign mode” It’s pretty beast, and you can also try out the Spec Ops mode.

Don’t get upset trying to get you Elite working correctly because if you are having issues with that, it is more than likely because Beachead Studios STILL can’t figure it out themselves (they are the ELITE peeps) some of it works, but it’s still mostly broke (upcoming article about that)

Modern Warfare 3 has its first Map Pack DLC coming out exclusively to Xbox Elite Premium Members on January 24th, 2012. After this news was announced must admit that I was surprised at how the twitter COD community BLEW UP! Lots of peeps asking why Elite Premium PS3 members have to wait the “typical 30 days” later after Xbox for the MW3 DLC content. CODBUNKER has posted this info many times (as has many others, including VIPs such as Dan Amrich aka OneofSwords) THIS HAS NOT CHANGED the benefit is that Xbox & PS3 Premium Elite members don’t have to pay for their DLC, and will receive it earlier than non premium members; however, it will still be staggered in accordance with a previously struck agreement with Activision and Microsoft which you can see here Previous XBOX Exclusive Deal.

ALSO, it states on the ELITE FAQ page:

“Do X360 and PS3 Call of Duty ELITE Premium members receive their DLC at the same time?

Similar to Map Packs, X360 Premium members will receive their DLC before PS3 Premium members. All Call of Duty ELITE Premium members will receive a steady stream of content released monthly for 9 months through the DLC season, and they will also receive their DLC before non-premium members on their console. “

I do not know where the misunderstanding has come from as Elite, Activision have been very clear, and the word has been put out many times, by not just CODBUNKER, but other sites as well. It is what it is!!! I am NOT defending anybody, I just want all the facts out there.

My personal take is “I don’t like it” but that is Business! MSFT struck a deal with ATVI & SONY lost out. (If anybody’s been left hung out to dry it’s been the PC community, IMHO) Secondly if you want to be mad about something I’d suggest that you pressure ATVI & Beachead Studios as to WHY ELITE is STILL NOT working like it was marketed to do soooooo long ago……….Just saying. I will have an upcoming article on that mess soon!
